MY HOMAGE FOR LAIKA, THE STREET DOGIE WHO TOUCHED THE STARS...

LET ME SHARE WITH YOU THE GREAT STORY OF A SMALL STREET DOGIE
THAT TOUCHED THE STARS...

MY HOMAGE FOR LAIKA, THE FIRST COSMONAUT DOGIE...

LAIKA

Dog / Astronaut
...
Born: c. 1954

Died: 7 November (?) 1957

Birthplace: Moscow Russia

Best known as: The first dog to orbit the Earth

Laika the dog was the first living being to orbit the Earth in space. She was aboard Sputnik II when it was launched by the Soviet Union on 3 November 1957. (Laika was a mutt, probably part husky, who had been picked up as a stray on the streets of Moscow.) Laika proved that animals could survive the rigors of space travel; monitors attached to the dog sent biological data which Soviet scientists used in planning later manned flights. (The first manned flight was made by cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin in 1961.) In a cruel twist, no provision was made for Laika's return to Earth; as planned, she died in space. Original reports were that Laika was put to sleep or died when life support batteries died after a week in orbit; more recent reports from Russia say that Laika died when the capsule overheated after four days or less in orbit.
Laika means "Barker" in Russian... Though Laika is generally given credit as the first animal to visit outer space, other animals (including American mice and the Soviet test dogs Albina and Tsyganka) had earlier been sent on brief suborbital trips into space...
The first dog to fly into orbit was a Soviet Russian dog called Laika. She was launched into orbit aboard Sputnik 2 on 3 November, 1957....

The decision to launch Laika into space was taken for two main reasons – scientific and political. The scientific reason was that little was known about how humans would cope in space, and observing animals in space would provide some rudimentary knowledge on this. The second, political reason, was that Khrushchev, leader of the Soviet Union at the time, wanted a ‘spectacular’ space mission to be launched on 7 November, 1957, to mark the 40th anniversary of the Bolshevik Revolution that led to the formation of the Soviet Union.

Sadly, Laika also became the first animal to die in space – the scientists who planned her mission knew that there was no way to safely return her to earth. They had hoped to euthanize Laika after a few days in space, but recent evidence indicates that it is likely that she died after just a few hours of spaceflight, as the Sputnik 2 capsule in which she was a passenger overheated. Aware of global sensitivities, and not wishing to damage their scientific and PR coup, the official line from the Soviet Union remained for many years that she had been euthanized (although there were also conflicting reports from the Soviet Union that she had died peacefully after oxygen in the capsule had run out).

Laika received a great deal of training for her mission – not very much of which would be considered acceptable by society today. In order to prepare for a long period in cramped conditions, Laika, Albina and Mushka (the other two dogs she trained with) were forced to stay in smaller and smaller cages for long periods – up to 20 days at times – and were placed in centrifuges to simulate the effect of launch.

Laika was a calm dog who had been found as a stray near Moscow, and she accepted her training. When not training her, the scientists involved in the programme treated her well, and with sympathy, and she was known by a number of other nicknames – including Little Curly (Kudryavka), Little Lemon (Limonchik) and Little Bug (Zhuchka) . One of the scientists took her to his home briefly just before the mission launched, to play with his children. He later said: “I wanted to do something nice for her. She had so little time left to live.”

FOR WHAT?

FOR WHAT???
For what dream, I go to ride a bike?   For what dream, I can get out of this suitcase?   For what dream about my mother kisses?   If I’ll never get out of here alive…
For what dream about my father shoulders?   For what dream about God, candy and toys?   For what dream I can kick a ball?…   If I’ll never celebrate the day I was born…
Dr. Smith , I can ask a question?   Why my mother last name is “FEMINIST”?   Why she does not want the men to kill whales?   But to me, She will not let me born…
Dr. Smith , who put in the head of my mother,   That until I out of here my life begins??   Why she does not want to die the Amazons River?   But to me, She will not let me alive??
For what dream with Little wooden horses??   For what dream play marbles?   For what dream I want to be a wrestler??   If my mother is “A VERY MODERN WOMAN” … YES SIR!!!
For what dream to play with a little bit of land?   For what dream draw a plane?   For what dream that I want to be … David Beckham?? If when I get out of here, I ‘ll be dead… Please!!!
Dr. Smith , I can ask a question?   Why my mother last name is “ECOLOGIST”?   Why she does not want turtles die?   Why She is letting you kill me?

THE TRAIN OF LIFE

THE TRAIN OF LIFE....

Life is but a journey by train: Full of embarkation and disembarkation, with serious accidents, pleasant surprises in some shipments, and deep sadness in others...

At birth, we boarded the train and we met some people whom we will always be with us on this trip: Our parents...
Unfortunately the truth is otherwise. They will be lowered at a station orphans leaving their... love, friendship and company irreplaceable. However, this does not prevent them from getting other people who will be very special...

They our brothers, our friends and our wonderful love. Of the people who take this train, there will be those who do like a simple walk, others find only sadness in the journey, and there will be others circulating in the train, are always ready to help anyone in need...

Many going down, leaving a permanent longing, others pass so unnoticed that even we realize that vacated the seat...

It is curious to note that some passengers, who are so loved to us are accommodated in separate cars to ours. Therefore we are forced to ply separated from them. Of course, we are not prevented during the trip, let's hit our car troubles and get to them, but unfortunately we can no longer sit by his side as there will be another person occupying the seat...

No matter, the trip is made in this way, full of challenges, dreams, fantasies, expectations and goodbyes... But never returns....

Then, do this trip in the best way possible...

Try to relate well with all passengers, looking at each one, which are better.

Always remember that at some point of the journey, they may hesitate and probably will specify and understand that we too often Shall, and there will be someone who understands...

The great mystery, in the end, it will not know what season never go down, much less where you get off our companions, even the one sitting in the passenger seat...

I 'm wondering if when you get off the train, feel nostalgic. I think so... Separate from some friends that I did on the trip will be sore. Leaving my Family to follow by themselves, will be very sad!!!

But I cling to the hope that , at some point, get to the main station and will have the thrill of seeing them arrive with luggage that they had when they embarked . What will make me happy, will think that I worked with that luggage did grow and valuable...

Let's make that our stay on this train is quiet, it was worth it. Let us therefore, that when it comes time to disembark , our empty seat, let nostalgia and fond memories and much love to those who remain on the trip...
